I Lamb of God (from Richmond, Virginia) si autodefiniscono "una band punk che suona heavy metal". La critica li indica più prosaicamente come band di groove metal con influenze metalcore, thrash, speed e hardcore. Il gruppo ha inciso, dal 2000 al 2012, sei album, ma già precedentemente i suoi membri fondatori (il chitarrista Mark Morton; il batterista Chris Adler e il bassista John Campbell) avevano rilasciato un album con la ragione sociale Burn the Priest.
